MIARKA, Adalbert
March 19, 1933 - February 2, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Adalbert Miarka, beloved husband, Papa, and Opa. Adalbert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Christl, his children Andreas (Judy), Christine, Therese Murray (Joseph), his grandchildren Erich (Sarah), Kirsten (Anthony), Ralph, Nicholas (Victoria), his great-grandchildren Ryker and Aelin, and nephews and nieces overseas. Adalbert loved his family deeply, and his children and grandchildren were his greatest source of pride. A man of quieter pursuits, he loved nature and the outdoors, and time spent with family and closest friends - he gave generously of himself to others, and asked for nothing in return. Adalbert (fondly called Albert or Bertl by some), was born in Krasna, Moravia, Czech Republic, to parents Josef and Theresie, the youngest of five brothers and two sisters, all who predeceased him. He moved his young family from Germany to Canada in 1961, where he worked hard to provide the foundation for his family to thrive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate and supportive staff at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at 11:00 a.m at the JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes St W, Fenelon Falls, Ontario, with a reception to follow. Adalbert will be laid to rest at the Fenelon Falls Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Community Foundation, Kawartha Lakes (Fenelon Falls) would be appreciated by the family.
