The family of Anne Fernley invites friends and family to join them in celebrating the life of Anne. The family will receive friends at Fenelon Falls United Church on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Caleb Kim of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church will be officiating.

Born in Oshawa, Ontario, Mrs. Anne Fernley peacefully passed away in Lindsay, Ontario on March 8, 2021. Anne led a very full and happy life. She graduated from OCVI and immediately went to Oshawa Business College. Upon successful completion, she obtained employment in the lab at Oshawa General Hospital. She then used her very pronounced people skills when she went to work in the office of Dr. Rundell. She loved the people interaction and was very highly thought of by all. Shortly after her own father passed away in 1965, Anne then worked for a chartered accountant as a bookkeeper until 1974. In 1969, she married the love of her life, Flying Officer Fred Fernley. He was a charming military Englishman! In 1974 Anne and Fred moved to The Moorings of Fenelon Falls. They enjoyed boating with friends and family and partying with some longtime friends. Sadly Fred predeceased her in 1990 but she was a strong independent, lady and stayed on the water in Fenelon Falls until she moved to Lindsay in 1997. While in Oshawa, however, she was a very active member of the Ukrainian St. James Presbyterian church. Upon her move to Fenelon Falls, she promptly joined the congregation of the St. Andrews Presbyterian church. Anne was extremely active with her church and enjoyed many activities offered. She loved her Ukrainian Pysynka and taught many friends to decorate the Easter Eggs of her origins. Anne had many interests, too numerous to list! She was an avid card player and taught many of her friends to play the games she loved. Throughout her life, she was extremely giving of herself. One could find her visiting many friends and elderly people who needed care and special attention. She was often in nursing homes giving her time and love to those who would come to love her visits. Anne was part of a very large family and is predeceased by three of her siblings. Natalka, William, and John have gone home ahead and are waiting with open arms to welcome her back into their embrace. Anne has two siblings that mourn her passing, Mary Salmers (nee Blasko), Olga Boltz ( nee Blasko) and her sister-in-law, Leanne Larson. Anne also leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews as well as her many great-nieces and nephews. She will be sorrowly missed by all. Please keep Anne in your thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, Anne has expressed that donations to her beloved St. Andrews Presbyterian church in Fenelon Falls, would be greatly appreciated and may be arranged by Jardine Funeral Home, Cremation & Tribute Centre, 705-887-3130 or www.jardinefuneralhome.com
