It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the passing of Clela Victoria Swanton (nee Shier) on Friday, March 22, 2019 three weeks before her 90th birthday. Clela is predeceased by her parents Laura and Delson Shier of Cannington, and her husband, Ron, to whom she was married for 53 years. She is survived by her son, Doug Swanton and his wife Evelyn of Erie, Colorado, and her daughter, Jayne Johnston of Burlington. She was the proud Grandmother of Michael and Sarah of Burlington, Kayla, Megan and her husband Mat Lang in Colorado and Great Grandmother to Emerson. She was loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins, and was a cherished friend. Clela was a dedicated nurse for 40 years with much of that time at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. She loved her time at the cottage, boat rides (but not too fast!), antiques, fall drives to see the colours, and anything chocolate! She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at the JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes Street, West, Fenelon Falls on Tuesday, March 26 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with the funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Guests are invited to a reception following the service at Fenelon Falls United Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ross Memorial Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
