Obituary for Chester Edward Kopec
Chester Edward Kopec, aged 95, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2024 in Mississauga after a year-long battle with dementia. He was born on March 1, 1929, in Poland and immigrated to Canada in his 20s.
He was a proud resident of Toronto and then of the Kawartha Lakes community in his final years.
Working a variety of jobs, such as cleaning, house painting, and (proudly) at the very first Swiss Chalet on Bloor St. in Toronto. These experiences built his foundation for becoming a business owner in Toronto's vibrant Harbord Village community.
Chester was very outgoing, social, and loved a good party. He enjoyed listening to classical music and his love for dogs was next level.
He will be missed by family and friends from Canada, Poland and Germany; especially by his long-time shih tzu, Mikey.
Family & friends are invited to a funeral mass Friday April 26th , 1:00pm, at St Mary’s Star of the Sea (11 Peter St. S, Mississauga, ON).
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to one of these charities that held a special meaning to Chester.
