HEMSOL, JUANNE (nee MARTIN) 1930 - 2022
Passed away at Toronto Western Hospital, September 24, 2022, Toronto, after a courageous battle with heart failure, while living at home as long as possible, helped by caregivers and her daughter. Juanne was predeceased by her loving late husband, Max Hemsol; infant daughter, Susan; and mother, Gladys Martin (nee Shutler); father, Walter Martin; and sister, Delphine Martin, of England. Survived by her devoted daughter, Yvon Helen Hemsol; and nieces and nephews in England and France. Attended King Edward High School for Girls, (KE), Birmingham, England. Education included: Birmingham Aston University, Business Admin. (Diploma 1950); A.R.C.T. (Speech Arts and Drama, teacher) Royal Conservatory of Toronto, 1976; Licentiate, Trinity College, England, Performer's Diploma, effective speaking, (1982) and TESL certificate, Humber College (1990). An extensive career and community involvement including founding the South Eglinton Ratepayers and Residents Association, serving on the City of Toronto Planning Board (1970-79) including as Chairperson, and continuing to teach speech and drama into her late 80s. Aqua cremation has taken place; interment will be at Fenelon Falls Cemetery, Sunday, November 6th, 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer.
