Donald Payne went to be with his Lord, on Sunday, June 30, 2019 in his 96th year at Fenelon Court Long Term Care. Loving and cherished husband of Eileen Lillian Payne (nee Gates) of Fenelon Falls. Dear father of David Payne and his wife Diane of East Gwillimbury, Glenda and her husband Mark Scott of Fenelon Falls, Roger Payne and his wife Isabel of Stouffville and Brian Payne and his wife Peggy also of Fenelon Falls. Don was so proud of his 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Don served his country in a tank with the Canadian Grenadier Guards during WWII and participated in the liberation of the Netherlands. His life's work and passion was serving God and others as a Baptist minister. He loved people and had an extraordinary ability to befriend all who came in contact with him. The family of Don Payne will receive friends at Trentside Baptist Church, Fenelon Site, 80 Colborne Street, Fenelon Falls on Thursday, July 4th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service in the sanctuary at 11:00a.m. Reception to follow. A private family graveside will be held at Pinegrove Cemetery in Norland. If desired, memorial donations to Faith Baptist Church, 186 Lake St. N., Echo Bay, Ontario P0S 1C0 would be appreciated and may be arranged by JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE 705-887-3130.
