KNOPFEL: Else - It is with sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our dear mother and grandmother, the matriarch of our family. She will always be remembered for her strength and independence. Else Knopfel formerly of Columbus Street, Timmins, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay, in her 83rd year. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerhard Knopfel (1993). Dear and loving mother of Rosemarie and her husband Jack Bertrand of Bobcaygeon, Heinz Knopfel and his wife LuWana of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and Susanna and her husband Paul Arsenault of St. Lazare, Quebec. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren who remember her singing "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" across the telephone lines or quietly in moments shared together; - Monica and her husband Robert Jardine, Aaron Bertrand and his wife Lisa, Philip Bertrand and his wife Kristen, Amanda and her husband Howie Cleavinger, Wesley Knopfel, Stephanie and her husband Ryan Harrod, Christina Knopfel, Jessica Arsenault, Erica and her husband Joshua Gray, and Rebecca Arsenault. Else was the great-grandmother to 10 energetic bundles of joy. All of the great-grandchildren are under the age of six years and affectionately called her "Omie". She was the special and loving "Omie" to Abigail, Madison, Owen, Simon, Brock, Kael, Noah, Olivea, Benjamin and Amara. The family of Mrs. Else Knopfel will receive friends at the JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, onThursday, September 11th 6:30 p.m. until time of complete service in the chapel at 7:30 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to St. Michael's Hospital Cardiology Department or Ross Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, would be appreciated by the family.
