In Memory of

Walsh

Condolences

Condolence From: Wendy Smith
Condolence: To the family of John Walsh: My genuine condolences for your loss of such a man. I had the pleasure of meeting John this past year while we were both ranting and raving about the lack of responsibility in this town for litter, waste and garbage. He suggested that Home Hardware (and other establishments), be responsible for the taking back of disposable items such as batteries and light bulbs. He strongly suggested that some Action be taken to dispose of waste properly. He was a man after my own heart and I spent many times with him this past summer as he zoomed around town on his scooter (I never checked his speed but he knew his way around...). He was all tanned up. He told me that he tried to get a swim in everyday or at least as much as he could. I wanted him to wear sunscreen on his face. Nop way. His family was everything to him. He loved his cottage and his home but he missed his beautiful wife, Barbara. He often spoke of her as if she was just around the corner and he would give her a hug to make up for the hugs he never got a chance to give. We spoke of the Value of hugs and of Kindness. John will be missed by many and I will always do my part to bring Waste and Litter to the powers-that-be to continue with his fight. Thank you for sharing such a strong and gentle man. sincerely, Wendy Smith P.O. Box 365 F.F.

Condolence: My condolences with the loss of your Father. I am unable to attend the service for your Father on Saturday because I am out of Town. John was a great guy and our talks in the store were always something I enjoyed. I know you guys always did much for him and he always talked very fondly of his family. He will be missed by his friends at the store. Mark (Sobeys)

Condolence From: Brenda & Terry Searl
Condolence: Knowing your da' really was a treat for us. He was kind of like a pie, Crusty on the outside but a pleasure on the inside. It didn't happen often but when he was stuck for a comeback in our verbal sparring, the look on his face was priceless. We are truly sorry for your loss and want you to know your loss is also ours......... Brenda Jessica and terry Searl

Condolence From: Barb Ferguson
Condolence: Please accept my condolences on John's passing. I have known John & Barb since the early 90's. I enjoyed them sharing their favorite memories with me of everyone climbing into the station wagon and going on their camping trips. John would always look forward to his trips to B.C. and came back looking so content but I think he enjoyed family times at the summer cottage most. He was always so cheerful even if in pain. I hope it helps knowing that he will be missed by more than just family, he touched many other lives and will not be forgotten.

Condolence From: Grattan and Joanne Young
Condolence: So very sorry to see, in the Post Office yesterday, that John has died. We have known him for many years, and Barbara too, great people. Often talked to John on his way past our house, going to the cottage on the lawn tractor, of late on the scooter. He should be remembered for all his volunteer work at the Fenelon Falls Cemetery. He certainly was a young 85 and will be missed in Fenelon Falls. Sincerely Grattan and Joanne Young

Condolence From: Bill and Pat Bartlett (Toronto)
Condolence: We wish to send our condolences to the Walsh family. Bill knew John for most of his life and they kept in touch my 'phone after John moved north. Pat met John and Barbara (prior to meeting Bill) while working in the Beach in the late eighties. On one occasion, about the time Barbara retired, Pat was invited to John and Barbara's home for an evening and has very fond memories of both of them. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
