Obituary for Mary Margaret Lucille Beall (Metz)

Mary Margaret Lucille Beall (Metz)
Mary Margaret LUCILLE BEALL (nee Metz) passed away in Ross Memorial Hospital on December 1, 2015, one day after her 98th birthday. Her husband, Hugo, predeceased her in 1974. Greatly missing her are children: Nan Beall-Fahlman (Greg Fahlman), Ron (Elin), John (Judy) and Moya Beall (David Robertson). Also grieving her are grandchildren: Chris and Shannon Fahlman, Brendan Robertson, Carly, Emily and Marcie Beall. Lucille grew up in a large and loving family of seven sisters and one brother in Wilcox Saskatchewan. She leaves sister Catherine Metz, Regina; brother Maurice Metz of Regina, and youngest sister Mildred Lentz of Kamloops. She was predeceased by sisters Colette Campbell, Marjorie Metz, Evelin Metz, Mary Fahlman, and Joan Milholm. After graduating from the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina, Lucille nursed in North Battleford, and married Hugo Beall, from Lindsay. When Hugo left the RAF after the War, they moved to Rosedale on Balsam Lake. There they built and ran their tourist businesses: Club Balsam restaurant; Balsam Motel and Cottages; and the English China Shop - and later - Antique Shop. In later years, Lucille happily indulged in her interests of history and geography by traveling to England, Germany, Venice, Australia and New Zealand, Hawaii and many parts of the USA, with her dear sister Colette, and a few good friends. A daily crossword puzzle, a good book, and cheering on the Blue Jays or her favourite curling bonspiel teams made for a satisfactory day.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Lucille on Sunday, December 6, at 2 pm, at Adelaide Place, 84 Adelaide Street South, Lindsay. This was Lucille's last residence.
Condolences may be sent to Jardine Funeral Home, Fenelon Falls: jardinefuneralhome.com. If you wish, a donation to the United Way for the City of Kawartha Lakes, 50 Mary Street, Lindsay, Ontario K9V 2N6, would be appreciated.
