Obituary for Muriel Emma McGee (Wells)

McGee, Muriel Emma

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of their matriarch on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Muriel (nee Wells) McGee proudly lived to be 96 years old but did not look a day over 80. She credited her morning ritual of face cream for her youthful appearance along with a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream in her morning coffee. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald McGee (1998) and loving mother of Garry McGee and his wife Cheryl of Peterborough, Brenda and her husband Larry Burnett of Cameron, Ron McGee and his wife Faye also of Cameron, Conney and her husband Scott Wilson of Fenelon Falls and Carolin and her husband Joe Garner of Brechin. Muriel loved her grandchildren; she had 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Morley Wells and his wife Rhena of Lindsay and pre-deceased by her brother Orville Wells and his wife Orlee.  Family meant the world to Muriel and was never caught without a smile on her face. She loved Sunday dinners, Friday night card games and loved eating out and catching up with 'the kids'.  In quieter moments she loved living at 70 Murray Street and the friendships and laughter it gave her. She was an avid romance novel reader and could spend hours chatting on the phone. Our family will miss her greatly and invite friends to come celebrate her life with us on Saturday, October 8th at the Royal Canadian Legion, 23 Veteran's Way, Fenelon Falls from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 12:00 Noon p.m. followed by a reception until 3:00 p.m.. If desired memorial donations to The Seniors Citizens’ Club of Fenelon Falls would be appreciated.
