Obituary for Russell Irwin Woodard

Woodard, Russell Irwin

It is with great sorrow and sadness that our family announces the passing of our Dad Russell Irwin Woodard. Dad passed away peacefully just before his 92nd birthday on June 25, 2022 at 12:54 am. Dad left us from his favourite setting on Sturgeon Lake.

Russ is survived by and was surrounded by his three children, Greg, Ellen and Jennifer (Gary) and his wife Sally whom he loved dearly. He was also survived by his grandchildren Ben (Jessica), Paige, Claire,  Melanie, Scott (Mel), Cole and Christopher, his stepchildren Brian (Jenn), their children Brittany and Matt, Kelly (Chris) and her children Ryan, Cooper and Jimmy, his brother Mel Woodard as well as many nieces, nephews and friends all of whom he loved very much.

He was proud of his children and although a clever man who was successful in his business, he always spoke about health and happiness being the most important in life. We are so grateful for his presence in our life and to have him as our Dad.

He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Although apart for many years we feel it important to mention our loving mother and Russ’s first wife Gwendolynne Robinson who remained a friend throughout the years.

Russ was a hard working entrepreneur who spent his life working in the boating industry, which he had a great passion for. Russ had a love for the water, playing and watching tennis and, in his younger days, a good game of golf. Dad was a kind and supportive man who believed that living with a positive attitude could change a person. He was great at offering his advice. Russ was a gifted speaker and presenter which served him well in his business.

He is resting peacefully at the Jardine Funeral Home in Fenelon Falls. Cremation will take place. As per Dad’s wishes, there will be no service.

The family welcomes your tributes, fond memories or stories of Russ. To leave an on-line condolence, make a memorial donation or to share a photo or video please visit: www.jardinefuneralhome.com
