It is with great sadness the family of Steven Jack Mercer announces his passing on Thursday, September 21 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay ON. Steve will be sadly missed by Patricia Hitchcock, his companion of 16 years, his sons John and Geoff Mercer, his grandsons Dylann and Jake Murray and his sisters JoAnn Mercer Deriet, nieces and nephews and partners Justin and Avery, Dylan and Kelli, Taylor and Ryan and great-nieces and nephews Dallas, Blakely and Violet; and Jackie Dubeau nee Mercer and her husband Marc, and nieces Anjelle and Lynette . Steve was predeceased by his parents Violet Elaine Mercer (nee Sutcliff) and Jack Keith Mercer. He will also be fondly remembered by his many friends and acquaintances from various waste management facilities in the Region of Durham where he worked beginning in 1974. Steve will be missed by his friends in the sprint and stock car racing circuits as well as many friends in and around Durham and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
