Thelma
Helen
Langlais
(Hood)
On Monday, December 27, 2021, Thelma passed away peacefully of old age, having turned 88 on September 24th. Joining her husband “Hank” who passed 9 months earlier (March 23rd) at 92 of a heart attack. Thelma is pre-deceased by her parents, George & Helen (Hreczuk) Hood and brothers Cliff, Bob & David. Loving Mother to her five children: Paul (Darlene) Langlais, Ruth (Danny) Langlais, Sandra (the late Charlie) Mitchell, John Langlais and Tracey Biggar & many grandchildren & great grandchildren. Both parents had been residing at Extendicare Nursing Home (Oshawa) since December 2019 and admitted only five days apart. Forever grateful for the Extendicare Earth Angels, for showering love, kindness & understanding when Dad’s Alzheimer & Mom’s Dementia escalated. A unique occurrence happened, as both parents passed in the arms of the same nurse “Juliette-3rd floor nurse”. Thank you so much Juliette for sharing these last conversations (with my parents) to me, as I am forever grateful for your love and care of them! We are very thankful and grateful for the long list of caregivers, looking after our parents, while still in their home. Special thank you to the four PSW ladies who looked after them while in their apartment and at Extendicare, when Covid protocol permitted; Bobbie Preciado (husband Miguel), Linda Mitchell, Karenann Bell & Belinda Brown. A private family celebration of life is taking place on Saturday, April 9th at Thornton Cemetery at noon with a lunch afterwards. Hank and Thelma Langlais will be laid to rest directly across the path from Thelma’s parents, George and Helen Hood. This would make my mom so happy to be right across from her two best friends.
