Condolence From: Ted Gordon
Condolence: My most treasured memories of Uncle Doug was his ability to take bits and pieces of old machinery and turn them into a working wonder....pullies, gears, belts, old gas motors coming together to my young eyes amazement. I wasn't always sure of their purpose but was always fascinated by the symphony of noise and movement. The world is now missing a mechanical genius. Our deepest sympathies to your entire family. Ted & Sue Gordon

Condolence From: Walter Andruszko
Condolence: I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet and learn from Doug. It did not take long to figure out that Doug was a knowledge of information that was only accessible to those that he was willing to give it to. I would listen to everyone talk about what was wrong with the saw mill that day and then at the end of the day, when it was just Doug and me, I asked and he told me what the real reason was. He didn't tell the others during the day that day because they were not wise enough to ask or listen. Doug was right. My wife Misty, the girls, Anastasia 5 and Abigail 4 always look forward to the steam shows and part of that is the people that we enjoy while we are there, like Doug and Dorothy. We only wish we had a little more time, but can not forget to be thankful for the time that we did get. Our deapest condolences from the Andruszko's from Michigan.

Condolence: Dorothy and family: Doug has become so special to all of us over the years. He taught us all so much and we will miss him more than words can say. None of our steam shows will be the same without him, he was an inspiration and endless source of history to our kids. We all loved him dearly. I am sure he and Dad are catching up in Heaven right now. I hope they have steam engines and saw mills there. Love you, Steve and Ev

Condolence From: Belinda Wilson
Condolence: Dorothy and family: It seems I've known Doug almost my whole life - when he and Grandpa worked as custodians at the public school when I was a kid, I used to help them sweep the halls with the big floor mops. And of course I remember the visits to the farm with Grandpa and Grandma. Over the years I've had many occasions to talk with Doug - sometimes dropping in if I saw him outside working on one thing or another. He was one of a kind, and he will be missed by many. My thoughts are with you as you struggle to cope with your loss.....Belinda
