Condolences

Condolence From: Maynard Olson
Condolence: It was with great shock and disbelief that I only recently learned of Al's death so many years ago. I had long hoped to re-acquaint with him after all these years to reminisce about memories in Saskatchewan. Growing up together in the small town of Sturgis, I knew Al very well. We were in band in High School and both in the Boy Scouts. I remember him stopping at our house on his way home after school to take Morse code lessons from my dad to help him get his amateur radio (ham) license. With that, he set up a "ham" shack in his bedroom at home. Music was his great passion and he would write music parts for a few of us in the band who would get together and have great jam sessions. I lost track of Al after our university years when he moved out to Ontario in the 1960's. I'm sorry to say that I never saw him again. He was certainly one of the most brilliant people I ever knew. My sincere (belated) condolences to his family and friends.

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Al was a wonderful teacher and inspired many students by making learning fun. I still remember his "smiley faces" on my kids test marks and talking with him at the arena while watching Alexander play hockey. Take some comfort in knowing he was someone who made a difference.

Condolence: Dear Ev and family: Al was such a wonderful man - a teacher, a mentor and a friend, with patience and good humour to spare. He was such a huge part, along with dear Russ, of my high school experience. Music class, stage bands, musicals, the trip to Moose Jaw...all wonderful memories that I have carried with me through the years. Al's smile is etched in memory, and his "dooby dooby doo"...God bless him for his kind and gentle spirit, and my prayers are with you all during this time.

Condolence: To Ev and family,
It was with deep sorrow that I learned of Al's death. Al was a caring man who welcomed me into the Immanuel family during my summer visits. I will always treasure his friendship and marvel at his musical ability. May God strengthen you during this time of sorrow and may you be comforted in knowing that Al's faith has given him victory.
With sincere sympathy,
Linda Irwin

Condolence: Needless to say it was a shock to hear of Al's passing. We heard through Steve who had been called by Wayne Boadway. We certainly want to express our deepest sympathy to you, Ev, and your family. We will be in South Texas but our prayers and thoughts will be with you especially on January 5 and in the days to come. Many fond memories of our times together at both the Church and at school come to mind and we wish you God's peace.
Love,
Gavin and Emily Clutton
