In winter , at Baddow Public School during recess we would play ball hockey. My brother Frank and Stuart Nichols played up and Johnny Butler and Carol played defence. We won our share and Carol was a big part of our little team. She was determined and disciplined and got the job done and always with a smile and in good humour. Much like she approached the rest of her life.I have told Ralph many times that Carol was a far better hockey player than he was! If there were more people in the world like Carol Watson the world would be a better place. Rest in peace dear girl and thanks for not screening me. Ed Wilkinson
