Condolence: Aunt Idy, Bruce and Sandra. We are deeply saddened by your loss. Charlie was a wonderful person who always had a kind word and a laugh for everyone. We will all miss him. We feel priveleged to have been able to pay our final respects at the funeral this past weekend and most importantly, to meet again with all of you and your families and to solidify some of the ties that bind us together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Condolence: Ida,
I am saddened to hear about the passing of Charlie. I want to let you know that I am sending to you, and the family my thoughts and prayers at this time. There are not enough words to adequately describe such a wonderful man and how he has touched and contributed to so many lives.

Although a number of years have passed, I have fond memories of the time spent with Charlie and you, Sandra, Mike and Bruce; boating on Lake Simcoe; the trip to your house in Newfoundland the many BBQ’s and dinners; my list could go on. When I look back, what stands out in my mind was Charlie’s love for you and his family. Everything was about family. Spending time and doing things as a family, even as teenagers and young adults. It really didn't matter, what type of car he drove, or material things ---- well except for his TV. What was most important to Charlie was spending time with his family. The other thing we cannot forget was that there was always lots of laughing going on at the Ralph’s house. Charlie was either telling jokes or was the brunt of the many jokes from others. I consider this one of Charlie’s prescriptions for a wonderful life; Love, Family and Laughter. It is truly a blessing to have had the opportunity to have Charlie touch my life, as well as to be a recipient of this lesson.
With comfort to you Ida, the Gallo's and the Ralph's
Diane

Condolence: Ida this is my personal favourite poem for the passing of a loved one.
Charlie was salt of the earth. Blessings to you and your family.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
