We were rather misplaced Newfoundlanders who discovered each other in the library in Florida and have been steadfast friends since. How we enjoyed her visit with us in October when she attended her nursing reunion and we visited her old St. John's haunts together. We had such a fun time, it had been years since she was home. I'm so sad to hear about your Mom....she was quite the woman! I was lucky to have her help 'guide' me through my years at FFSS but so blessed to get to know her even better through Leslie & Mike. I had such admiration for Claudia...so classy, so wise, so much fun. There are people and families that come into your life that leave such an impact - she certainly left her mark on mine....she will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to you and your children. Condolence: Leslie, Heidi and families -- What a GREAT woman your Mom was!!! She was an inspirational mentor to me for many years. We had a strong working relationship that developed into a cherished friendship. I recall many times playing bridge with Claudia and Syd - with a few scotch....and those many timeshare holidays together. I will long remember her infectious sense of humour and that honest, joyous laugh. Every time I think of her --- I SMILE!!! Condolence: Leslie, Heidi and families; Your mom was one of those people that leave a lasting impression on those she touches. My days at FFSS would not have been the same without her; actually my life wouldn't have been. She pulled me into her office one day to ask me what my plan was. Well, I told her, and as only she can do, she told me she wasn't sure she liked that plan and that she had a few things for me to consider. It took me a few years, a couple of college changes, but eventually I came around to her way of thinking! I am very grateful to her for that.I am very sorry to hear of her passing but please know that she will be remembered by so many of us as having had a role in our lives.
