Tom & Bob and Family, no words can describe how sorry I am to hear about your Dad's passing. Don was very important to me even though we drifted apart over the years. I'll never forget in 1977 while coming off the football field at Heron Park somewhat frustrated about my lack of good Assistant Coaches. A skinny red haired guy said I'll give you a hand because my kid is on your team and I said sure. It was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. We not only had good football teams, Don would install a stereo or two in my cars, we'd eat a lot of pizza together with our Mom, we coached softball, shared a few drinks and many many laughs!! I still know his bad jokes off by heart. Your Mom Helen and Don Introduced me to Haliburton in 1981 and that I'll never forget. He taught me how to tie a fishing knot, fish with a hula popper, how to make the best Cesar salad which I still can't, how to tell many good stories and go toe to toe with anyone about our Conservatives. I could go on and on about one of the best people I've ever known. Your Dad was a GOOD Man and a great friend. My condolences to both you Tom and Bob and everyone that Don influenced in life. My very best to the whole Family under these difficult times. Don was a great Friend, Father, Husband, Grandfather and a totally unforgettable character. Thanks for all the good times and bad jokes, Don! Rest in Peace Rob & Laurie McCaig
