Fond memories

I would like to share a very special story about Ed. While I could list many ways in which he affected my life, there is one thing that stands out above all. When I was new to Fenelon Falls, I was looking to find something where I could earn a living without having to commute to my job in Toronto. I had been a customer at Kathy’s Pet Foods for about a year. One day when I walked in, Ed was doing inventory. He asked me if I wanted a job (looking quite disgusted about the inventory taking!). I cracked back that if it was doing the inventory, “no, thanks”. He turned to me and said, “Actually, we just lost our dog groomer. Are you interested?” I thought that he was joking and told him that I had no experience. He said that he was sure that Kathy would be able to arrange training for me and that they wanted someone mature who was not likely to leave in the near future. I told him to feel free to discuss it with Kathy. To make a really long story short, it is thanks to Ed’s comment to me that I have made it to where I am today. He and Kathy both felt it was worthwhile to take a chance on me. Kathy arranged the training for me and they both encouraged me all the way. Now, more than 10 years later, I own my own grooming business and it is quite successful. I still work above the Pet Food Store and I love it! Thank-you Ed for changing my life. You will be missed by many. “Auntie” Ann Bennett Dog Groomer (Ann’s Doggie Spa)
