The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Eileen Wright can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Grandma

Grandma will be missed greatly by all the people who had the pleasure of meeting her.  As far back as I remember going to a show in Lindsey, a square dancing event somewhere within a couple hours in the Caravan or a curling event she had... friends.  That title is used far too frequently these days but with Grandma you could see the happiness in peoples faces when they approached.  Grandma in turn, remembered something special about every one of them.  You could tell that they appreciated her caring ways.  The very definition of a great Grandmother.

In August of last year we made that title of Great Grandmother official and welcomed Madeline into the world.  I cannot tell you how proud of Maddy, Grandma was.  This was evident the last week we got to spend with her.  When we arrived, just before lunch everyday, Grandma beamed when we entered the room.  Grandma was thrilled to play, coo and make funny faces with Maddy.  After a bunch of that, a bunch of smooches with everyone and a bunch more for just Maddy I gave Grandma a hug and kiss.  She told me that I was a “good boy” and that she was proud of the family I had started, and that I have a beautiful daughter.  This means alot to me.  She was so strong, and I admire that.  This is one of the many things I admire about her. Grandma will be missed, but like her, I will ensure that our family story gets passed on to another generation.  We will never forget her Maddy, Sonja, and I love her so much.
