Marie Clarkson (Sister)
Our growing up years were like everyone else in a small town(Champion, Alberta)during and following the war years.
Every other day or so, Frieda would ask me to do her hair in curlers for school. I told her she should do hers as I have too do mine. Of course she mentioned it to our Mom that I would not help her. Mom asked me if I would do it for her. So I did hers as well as mine.
Guess what? When Frieda graduated from high school, she went to Calgary, Alberta and enrolled in a hair dressing course, and graduated.
Our brother Sam was in the navy, stationed in Toronto, at the time and suggested that she come to Ontario. Frieda thought that was a great idea and in a short time Frieda became a very successful hair stylist and later purchased the salon.
On several occasions while visiting them in Ontario, I always took my own curlers. Just in case.
Frieda and I were very close and I loved her very much and will miss her.
