I was sorry to read about 'Mr. Webster'. I knew him from my childhood days living across the road on Brooke Avenue. I was friends with Alan and 'Lynnie'. When their dad would leave for work in his pilot's uniform. I vividly remember thinking how tall and handsome he looked and what a neat job he had. This was the early 1950's when commercial flying was still pretty new. I also recall when the family got a strange new device called a TV. One of the first on the block! My family moved from there when I was 10 and I never saw the Websters again. However, I am now a private pilot and involved in aviation. Over the years I have asked Air Canada friends if they knew a Captain Al Webster. Those who did always spoke so highly of him, about his skills as a pilot and what a special person he was. Now he has 'slipped the surly bonds of earth' in that final flight. My sincerest condolences to Alan, Lynn and their families. May wonderful memories prevail during this difficult time.
