The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Leslie Harvey can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

My memories of Les

I first met Les in 1065 when he came to inspect the electronic test cage at 207 Workshop RCEME in Barriefield where I was currently Officer Commanding. When I left the Armed Forces in 1970 and joined what was then the Sault Ste. Marie campus of Cambrian College, I was really happy to see that Les was one of the faculty members. Through our time there we had a cohesive department that helped build the school. Les was extremely well liked and appreciated by his students, and his organization of things like the annual ballgame between the technician and technology students became a tradition. I still work and play with graduates like Ed Sowka and Fred Carella who have fond recollections of Les, especially of his discipline with cleaning up after labs and his no-nonsense approach to learning. He was a great teacher and a good friend.
