Life Story for M. Kathleen "Kay" Sowten (Cutherbertson)

M. Kathleen "Kay" Sowten (Cutherbertson)
Mary Kathleen (Cuthbertson) Sowten was born in Massey Ontario, 19 October 1927 and remains in spirit, transitioning from this world 20 May 2012. Kay Cuthbertson, after completing a grade 7 education "up north", lived in Toronto until she moved to Kemptville with her family. Kay Sowten raised four children, and had many careers before moving to Elliot Lake to retire, changing her name to Kate Sowten. She was and will be remembered as a painter, many of her friends are fortunate enough to have one of her original paintings. Her favorites activities were, caring for her family, gardening, cards, and socializing. After going back to school in her 60's she graduated with both a drafting and an arts diploma. She went on to fulfill her passion to teach art, both in Kemptville and in Elliot Lake. She will be remembered for her love of life, by all that knew her.
Family and Friends are invited to Celebrate Kate's Life at Fenelon Court on Saturday 26 May 2012 at 1 PM. All are invited to come and share Memories, light refreshments.
Donations in Memory of Kate may be made to Hospice Kawartha Lakes or The Royal Canadian Legion: Fenelon Falls Branch.
