McLennan: Marina Isobel (Jackett) - Entered into rest on Thursday January 31, 2013 at Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. Marina (nee Jackett) McLennan of Fenelon Falls was in her 79th year. Beloved wife of John McLennan for 51 loving years. Loving mother of Cynthia McLennan, Scott McLennan and his wife Marilyn and Tarina McLennan and her partner Richard Taylor. Cherished Grammie of Kaitlynn, Rebecca and Nathan. Dear sister of George Jackett and his wife Anna May of Fenelon Falls, Shirley and her husband Claire James of Elkhart Indiana, and Pauline and her husband Bill Eberts of Fredericton N.B. pre-deceased by brother Jim Jackett (1998). She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law June Jackett of Fenelon Falls and Robert McLennan of Toronto. Daughter of the late Wilfred and Pansy Jackett. Dear "Aunt Mert" to many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Marina, a life long resident of the village of Fenelon Falls, served as it's councillor, was it's first lady Reeve, representing the village at county council level. She was an avid historian and advocate for the village of Fenelon Falls, representing it as a volunteer on the historical society, horticultural society, and founding chairperson for "Power Links" (improvement of parkland & recreational facilities along the water way), along with activities in other various committees and boards. The owner of local business, Dee Jay Flowers for 27 years, Marina took a very active part in it's daily activities up until 2009, when health issues did not allow her to be as active in the family business. The family of Marina McLennan will receive friends at the JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes' St. W., Fenelon Falls, on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m., and Wednesday February 6, 2013 at Fenelon Falls Baptist Church, 80 Colborne St. Fenelon Falls from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Spring interment at Fenelon Falls Cemetery.
