Condolence From: Helen Manning
Condolence: How the years pass so quickly. I have thought of Bob over the years so fondly with love and happy memories. I was not only Bob's student, but a sometimes baby sitter and he and Oat were a fixture in my young life in the seventies. Bob gave the toast to the bride at my wedding, that's how much influence he had on me as a teenager and young woman of the seventies!

I have never been good at keeping up relationships- shame on me. But that does not diminish the love and respect I have always held for Bob,.

Tonight, in fact, was thinking of him and found his this obituary. Shocked and saddened.

Years later, and too late but no less sincere, I'm so sorry and I will remember Bob for his support, respect and love for the rest of my life.

Condolence: Mr. Krueger,

I will never be able to thank you enough for the indelible mark you made on my high school years. I came to NTCI because of its renowned music program, known all over Toronto as the best and most competitive. I remember my early run-ins with you, where you gave me stern warnings not to talk during rehearsals, and private encouragment and advice on pieces to pick for my solo performances during visits to your crammed office, full of piles of sheet music and the errant instrument.

The music program under your leadership was a well-oiled machine, and you were deeply respected, loved, and sometimes feared. I saw the effect you had on my talented peers, motivating all of us to not only be better musicians and students, but better human beings as well. While a few wayward ones fell through the cracks, I don't think you ever gave up on any one of us, even those who almost gave up on music.

To know you are gone forever saddens me deeply, as I never got to thank you in my adulthood for all that you have done for me. I could have easily been one of the ones that fell through the cracks, had it not been for my achievements and self-confidence enabled by you.

Fond memories will forever be etched in my mind - auditioning for you on my clarinet, piano, and voice, basking in the thunderous roar of standing ovations, with you smiling back at us, our band trip to New Brunswick, and the BBQ you hosted for a few of us in your own backyard, shortly after graduation.

Even though I was not able to pay a visit over the past 14 years since I've moved to New York, I hope that your life in this final chapter was full of love, laughter, and most of all, music.

With my deepest condolences to your family,

Tiffany Lau

Condolence: Bob was a towering figure in my high-school life, as I started to think about making music and the clarinet my potential career. He was tough and no-nonsense, but also extremely caring, and always had time if there was a problem I wanted to talk over. His legendary career went from the 1960's into the 2000's, and there weren't and aren't too many like him. Gone but never forgotten...

Condolence: I am truly saddened to hear of the passing of 'Mr. Krueger' (I would have never dared call him Bob).

He was my music teacher at NTCI from 1972-1977, during which he tolerated my inabiltiy to keep my mouth shut in class, so that I might enjoy playing both trombone and baritone in his many classes and bands.

Occasionally caustic, but always utterly passionate about music and irrepressibly infectious in passing on that passion to his students -- even the difficult ones -- Mr. Krueger was a towering Beethoven in an academic world of PDQ Bachs. Only now do I realize how grateful I am to have been his student.

My condolences to his family. Even today, I hear his yell of "Band!!!" in the music wing hallway.
