Next door neighbour

I have great memories of living next door to the Pearce's. We could walk across the fields to get to  their house to play with Gail.

Many Saturdays we spent the morning there watching "Howdy Doody" and the" Mickey Mouse Club" on   their little TV [because we didn't have one] .Gail had the neatest play house [ an old milk wagon that her dad bought for her]. Then there was the time we got stuck in the mud in the plowed field between our houses and  Ruby and Mom tried to help us out with long sticks but in the end we had to roll out. One time we all went across the road to Oliver's and when Gwen called our Mom's we tried to sneak home and Ruby was standing at the fence between our houses waiting for Gail to scold her. When Dick and Ruby built a new house we spent many hours there  watching it being constructed and being very jealous. Ruby always had a beautiful smile and was so pretty  I guess it was because of Ruby and Dick that I learned how to square dance.

I'm glad to hear that she enjoyed her last days at the home in Lindsay and I'm sure she brightened up the residence with her beautiful smile
