This marks the day we all lost a good friend. I met Bill thirty some odd years ago and at that time, it seemed Bill had knack of attracting people in need of help or direction. Be they family members, friends, church members, or sometimes even strangers who need a little guidance to get them back on track. They would thank him and be on their way. I'm sure there were times that Bill must have thought he had sign on his back saying "Yes, I can help you". Department stores use it as a slogan, but Bill lived it and he was proud of it. This seemed to come so natural to Bill and it didn't bother him at all. He loved it. Bill even opened his home to help someone in need. Thirty years ago I thought what a pain in the butt these people are to this man and his family. What a drain they must be to this man's energy. What I thought was a pain, as it turns out, was a blessing. Look at all the lives this man has touched over the years. Look around at all the good he has managed. Just writing these words is bringing goosebumps to my skin and tears of joy to my heart. Bill, I tip my hat to you and your family. I will honour your memory forever. Thanks for touching my life.
