Life Story for Alan James How

Alan James How

Alan James How

1950-2010

Beloved husband and best friend to Linda How , Fenelon Falls. Loving and admiring Dad to daughter Jessie Amanda and husband Scott Wilson, and wee baby grandson AJ, of Forest, Ontario. Loving first son to Edith Schofield ( nee How) and Bernard Schofield of Fenelon Falls. Brother to Edith Brethour and husband Brian of Pickering, Susan Davis and nephew Cameron, of Kitchener, Gary How and wife Beryl of Oshawa, Cindy Smith and husband Phil, and niece Amanda of Coe Hill. Brother-in-law to Fran Krayewski, Oakville, and adopted sister of the family, Jackie Ready, Toronto. Step brother to Madelaine and Lex Clark, Barrie, Martin and Lorie Schofield, Stouffville, and David and Susie Schofield, Bradford.

Alan was an art director for major ad agencies in Toronto, and later a Realtor in the City of Kawartha Lakes. His zest for life was contagious. His battle with cancer was long, but his spirits and energy always remained high. He loved his family, his friends, his Harley, curling , his horses, a good bottle of scotch, his full dress kilt, and Willie Nelson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the Community Care Nurses who were wonderful in their care and compassion, the entire staff at Cancer Care in Peterborough, Dr. Pat Gallagher and the Palliative Care Unit at Ross Memorial hospital.

By Alan’s request, cremation has taken place. His wish for all friends and family was to raise a glass of good scotch, and make a toast to him, "We’ll be seeing you later".

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. On line condolences, memorial donations, or to light a memorial candle please visit www.jardinefuneralhome.com
