I first met Norm & his family about 50 years ago when we moved into Thornhill . He was a close friend & backyard neighbour as our homes were adjacent to each other. Norm was the closest person in the world to my having a twin brother. We both were born at the same time Jan. 14,1934 & our current age was 81 years. We maintained close communications & had many fond family memories. As I had two daughters Jane & Allison they became everlasting friends with Anne who was his only daughter. They all grew up to be health professionals and I know Norm was very proud of his Registered Nurse Anne. When Norm and Maureen moved from Thornhill to God's Little Acre home up North in the Lake Country of Fenelon Falls and Balsam Lake we kept up our communications by telephone, fax & e/mail exchanging news on what we were up to. Norm's main theme was he had maintained his aircraft pilot's licence for approx. 60 years! What an accomplishment. Dec 21 ,2014 was the last communications I ever had with Norm . He described amongst other things that he was proud he cleared his aviation medical exam and recently had written his Ontario driving test receiving an A! Norm was a friendly, warm, cheerful person always ready to help others and for this I thank him. I shall very much miss his friendship. Our condolences to Maureen, Anne, the boys, their families and their many grandchildren. Ed Patrick & Family, 12 Brightbay Cr. Thornhill , Ont.
