Shirley and I spent many hours together working (volunteering) for St John Ambulance. Shirley was a tireless volunteer and worked as an instructor and brigade member. A couple of favourite memories would be Shirley and I working together at the Kinmount Fair after someone broke up a fight we fixed up the victims and then relaxed by the trailer. We taught babysitting together along with Mabel Weaver and enjoyed watching the 11 & 12 year olds learning to handle infants.
