September 23, 1933- May 30, 2009

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ron, peacefully in his 75th year with family at his side at Ross Memorial Hospital Lindsay. He will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Jean (nee Webb), his sons Steven (Heather) and Peter (Paul), and his cherished grandchildren Lewis and Norah. Ron was an avid golfer and lover of all sports. Canadian college football and Vanier Cup were very dear to his heart. He took great pride in presenting the Hec Crighton Trophy (named in memory of his father in 1967) to the outstanding player in the CIS football league each season. Many thanks to the doctors, and nurses at Ross Memorial Hospital for their loving care and to the many other doctors, home care nurses, and the many friends and family at Sturgeon Point who have cared for Ron and helped Jean for the past several years.
